We are really sorry to report that the new lights on Parker’s Piece were vandalised sometime late last night or early this morning. The lights are part of a trial currently under consultation.

Councillor Tim Bick said he was very disappointed. “This is a another learning from the trial – that there are unfortunately a few very destructive individuals about. It’s contrasted against the fact that by now over 500 people have responded to our consultation which we’re very pleased about. The damage has been reported to the police and we aim to get the lights back in action for the remainder of the 4 week trial period, after which they will be re-used elsewhere.”

The City Council plans to have 3 of the 4 lights repaired tomorrow.
