 Cllrs Andrea Reiner and Colin Rosenstiel joined the Mayor in opening new tennis courts on Jesus Green on Tuesday 26 June. The £115,000 project was funded by money that the Lib Dem-run City Council has extracted from property developers in Cambridge.Students from Park Street Primary School were the first to play on the new hard courts, which were resurfaced and expanded from 2 to 4 courts. There are also 2 grass courts on Jesus Green. “Tennis is a great sport,” said Cllr Reiner, a keen tennis player herself. “Hopefully the new courts will encourage players of all skill levels to pick up a racquet.” |
