Car Park Closings w/c 10 June and w/c 17 June

The council has issued the following notice

Queen Anne Terrace Car Park Cleaning – Week beginning Monday, 10 June 2013

Queen Anne Terrace car park will be cleaned during the week beginning 10 June. It will start from the top floor and should be completed by Thursday, 13 June. In order to allow for the ground floor, basement floor and entry/exit lanes to be cleaned, it will be necessary for the car park to be closed from midnight on Tuesday, 11 June and all day on Wednesday, 12 June. The car park will remain open for the remainder of the work but will operate at reduced capacity.

Alternative parking will be available at our Grafton East car park, East Road.

Season ticket holders should take a paper ticket on entry to access the car park. Upon leaving drive to the exit barrier and press the help button. Staff will request your name and your pass number to allow free exit.

Queen Anne Terrace Essential maintenance – Week beginning Monday 17 June 2013

Essential maintenance works will also be taking place at the Queen Anne Terrace car park from Monday 17 June through to Wednesday 19 June 2013. The available amount of parking spaces will be reduced as it will be necessary to close levels for health and safety reasons. Whilst we do not envisage it having too much of an impact on available space, alternative parking will be available at our Grafton East car park for season card holders and staff who find they are unable to get parked in Queen Anne car park for the duration of these works.

Thank you for your co-operation during these essential works. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.’

Strawberry Fair

Residents will know that Strawberry Fair will take place on Saturday 1 June on Midsummer Common. The event commences on Saturday, with the parade starting on Jesus Green from 11am and then the opening on Midsummer Common at noon.

The Police and City Council officers will be available from 10am on Saturday. Police-related issues should be notified to 101 for non-emergencies. City Council can be contacted either by mobile 07825257521, or by using the out of hours number which is 457457, or by calling in at the Wesley Chapel on Saturday. This mobile phone number is contactable throughout the weekend should it be required.

City Council will co-ordinate response to any issues should they arise with the other agencies present and the organisers of Strawberry Fair and they will be logged and prioritised as required.

Strawberry Fair, as normal, will be co-ordinating the site clean up on Sunday, and the City Council will be working around the site as required both on Saturday and Sunday.

If you have other comments to submit on the event, please email parks@cambridge.gov.uk and we will respond to these from 9am on Monday 3rd June.
